Digital Delay For Application in Surround Sound
6.0 Conclusion
The overall design principle for the digital delay was a success and
proved to work in the manner intended, given the limitations of time and
financial restraints as outlined in the discussion.
As a surround sound processor the subjective testing gave favourable
results, and the system compared equally with existing systems. The processor
may not surpass other systems, on a commercial basis, but it has the ability
to match them if more work was carried out. If it could decode for both
AMBISONICS and DOLBY SURROUND SOUND as well as the existing method, then
I believe it would become commercially viable.
