Berrow '99 Daily ReportDay 2: Sunday 19th September 1999The rain last night kept lots of people awake (or was it the beer?) Finally, at 10am this morning, it stopped raining! The sun started to peek out through the clouds and encouraged people down to the beach - but there was hardly any wind! After a brief spell of rain again around 2pm, the sun finally took over and gave us a lovely warm, windy day. Just in time for the racing to start! I must say a thank you to Sean Finch from Bath who let me have a go of his Benson Gemini - what a lovely kite! I also flew my 2.6 sq m Nasa Wing - rather dwarfed by the 24.6 sq m Nasa Wing belonging to Chris Croft - see the photos below! The social evening was "Fish & Chip" night - followed by ice-cream (see the photos!) and the presentation of the very first Berrow 99 Slow-Bo award, to Chris Croft, for attempting kite surfing.. with his buggy! For his efforts he has to carry around a "STOP! Buggiers" lollipop lady's stick and a plaster cast snail for one whole day, until tomorrow's Slow-Bo is nominated! Again, you can click on any photo to bring up a larger version!
