Shop Profile: Mullin Kites

We believe that the Mullin Kite shop ceased trading in mid 2004.

Situated in Old Amersham town, Mullin Kites is run by no other than Dave Mullins, creator of kites such as Area 51 and Bitz. The shop / workshop caters for a variety of kite needs, from Cody kites to sport kites, buggies, accessories, rainbow varieties of ripstop, Chikara, spars, spare parts, the list goes on!

Dave's workshop has been at its current location for over seven years. However, the history of creativity in the workshop goes back a bit further - in the Second World War, barrage balloons were made in it - Dave has the photos on his wall to prove it!

Cody kites can be seen all around the workshop - including the famous picture of Samuel Cody and his assistant, and Dave & Wink's modern day version of it! If you ask Dave nicely he might even show you the video of the re-creation of that scene - very funny and well worth a look!
