The Car From Hell
Robin and the Reliants
Stood still in a layby
I saw a Reliant Robin
Going down the road
With a shape that I knew from the start
Was a disaster
Well it crawled up to the traffic lights
And set off real slow
Farted loudly
Belched out smoke
Making a shadow
I shouted "Son, where is your other wheel ?"
The sight of you has glued me to this spot
You said "Buddy I've come from the North Yorkshire coast, my Robin
to sell"
I said "Son you ain't got a chance in hell"
If you have ever driven in a plastic pig
Then you have been in the motor car from hell
Now you're opening up the bonnet
Cos the motor doesn't go
You're calling it all the names you can think of
And underneath the engine a pool of oil grows
I'm scared beyond belief of what kept it going
And the perverted love of plastic
Brings a smirk to every face
And common sense must be lacking for the driver
This ain't no technological breakthrough
Oh no this is the car from hell
And the road backs up with traffic
But there's nothing you can do
Your fibre glass contraption
Has made a fool out of you
Look out world but have a good laugh
At what's broken down here
You must learn to love this car and drive it well
This ain't no upwardly mobile three-wheeler
Oh no, this is the car
And this is the car
And this is the car from hell.
