Poem

A Poem by Helen's Gran
Following on from 'Locked Out !'

Listen to Brian’s tale of woe
Into the bathroom he did go
Helen locked the door and went to work
She locked him in, the silly berk!
He stood there shivering in his vest
Wondering what on earth to do next
He looked in the cupboard, and what did he find?
A large yellow sheet to cover his behind
And a child’s coat, much too small
But better than none at all!
After 4 hours chiseling at one piece of glass
By its removal he could pass
He squeezed through the window, what a risky act
He looked down, yes, all was intact!
He walked down the street moaning "what shall I do?"
His cheeks were red .. his others were blue!
People stared, bus drivers hooted
Old ladies fainted, cats and dogs scooted
"Helen, where art thou?", he wailed as he marched
While the wind blew stronger under the arch
He went down the High Street, to see the estate agent’s staff
Who on seeing Brian enjoyed a good laugh!
But they were so helpful by phoning around
To locate Helen who was finally found.
Her boss took her home to collect Brian’s gear
As she entered the shop they gave a loud cheer
Brian went home to replace all the glass
After all that, he said:
"DO I NEED A BATH !?!"
